Deconstruction
Deconstruction Criticism, or Poststructuralism, emerged from Structuralist Criticism through the work of Jacques Derrida (1930-2004). Deconstruction focuses on the relativity of reality, morals, and texts, as it challenges the way Western civilization thinks of the world and meaning. Deconstruction argues that the world is not static and absolute but dynamic and open to interpretation. One example of Structuralist theory challenged by Deconstruction is the idea of binary oppositions. Levi Strauss and Roland Barthes considered binary oppositions to lead to shared and universal meanings for Structuralists, but in Deconstruction lead to grey areas or gaps which create ambiguous or relative meanings. Deconstruction focuses on the implicit language, experiences, and images in texts that are dynamic with time, space, and the reader.

Gaston y Maite son en un mundo en que no hay secretos: el gobierno controla todo la información con tecnología, y cada persona sabe todo. Pero, mientras es supuestamente un mundo sin secretos, es probable que no es verdad. El gobierno, con el control de información, tiene la autoridad para omitir o cambiar información en los mentes de sus ciudadanos.
